Testimonials

Testimonials from town residents, and professional contacts of the candidates, showing their professionalism, integrity, and trustworthiness.

"After becoming the target of a reassessment completed by Anthony’s predecessor, I had much to disagree with and immediately began the grievance process. After the submission of my grievance paperwork I meet Anthony in his role as the Irondequoit town assessor. After some discussion I even agreed to have Anthony walk through my home so he could understand first hand my grievance’s with the reassessment completed by the former Assessor. Through out this process Anthony was professional, courteous, understanding, and totally transparent. He left his personal opinions and beliefs out of the equation and made decisions based in the law and the regulations. He was fair and impartial as any government employee should be. He was a model public official. Governments and citizens alike would benefit greatly from more people like him. He will have my vote, and you should strongly consider giving him yours as well." "It is with profound respect and unreserved enthusiasm that I submit this letter in commendation of my neighbor, Anthony Costanza, whose candidacy for public office deserves the highest regard and sincere consideration. In both private character and public spirit, Anthony exemplifies a caliber of integrity, altruism, and civic-mindedness that is increasingly rare and deeply needed in contemporary leadership. Over the years, I have had the privilege of knowing Anthony not merely as a neighbor, but as a paragon of selflessness and moral rectitude. His life is steeped in an ethic of service that is neither performative nor opportunistic—it is innate, unwavering, and quietly heroic. There have been numerous instances—both incidental and substantial—in which Anthony has come to my aid with a readiness that borders on instinct. Whether assisting me in the seemingly mundane act of unloading my vehicle, without solicitation and often without acknowledgment, or offering transportation during periods of personal constraint and logistical hardship, his generosity has been both boundless and uncompromising. On more than one occasion, during times when I lacked aid Anthony volunteered his time and resources without the slightest hesitation—gestures of pure charity rendered with grace and humility. These are not isolated acts of kindness but emblematic of a broader disposition: one defined by vigilance toward the needs of others, a tireless willingness to extend himself, and an unshakable sense of communal responsibility. He does not wait to be asked. He acts, he shows up, and he lifts others—quietly, consistently, and without the desire for praise. To describe Anthony as “community-oriented” scarcely captures the depth of his engagement. He is, in every sense, for the people—a man whose daily conduct testifies to the virtues of empathy, perseverance, and moral clarity. His presence within this neighborhood has not only elevated the quality of our shared life but has also served as a living example of what it means to inhabit one's role as a citizen with purpose and honor. In a political landscape too often marred by ambition divorced from principle, Anthony offers a model of leadership that is deeply rooted in lived experience, ethical consistency, and profound compassion. His candidacy is not the pursuit of status, but the natural extension of a life already dedicated to the service of others. I endorse him without reservation and with the deepest confidence that his leadership will bring not only capability, but character, to every role he inhabits." "I’ve known Lisa Barrett for over 20 years. We’ve served together in many community events such as Family Life Ministries, Ronald McDonald House, Open Door Mission, and Northridge Church through the years. She has a servant’s heart, loving her Lord and Savior and loving people. She will be a wonderful asset to the Town Council of Irondequoit. She will serve the people well. A woman of integrity, action, commitment, and one I call friend!" Karen Peck, Verified Irondequoit Resident

"Irondequoit is a treasure in and of itself. Arguably one of the better places to grow up, grow a family, and grow old. To maintain that reputation, Irondequoit needs growth. Not in numbers, but like an individual, a community requires growth in its collective mindset. In its policies and practices. Leaders who aren’t afraid to challenge the way things have been done, even though change can bring temporary unrest. Leaders who are community members themselves that understand what the every day, hardworking American needs. Leaders who take the time to talk to their neighbors, not just thru email blasts and press conferences, but face to face, on the street, or in the store, or over coffee. Old school communication. Old school connection. Heart to heart conversations that lead to compassion and understanding of what the majority needs… to grow. With the utmost confidence, I’m honored to share my support of Michael Voigt as Irondequoit’s next councilman. There are fewer people I have ever met that have a growth mindset that consistently shows successful results. I wholeheartedly believe in his ability to bring great and meaningful change - GROWTH - to Irondequoit, as he is the most driven, dedicated to betterment, passionate person I know (his energy is palpable when you talk to him!). He’s a hard worker that’s always up for a challenge and continually learning new skills, researching, and positively impacting people’s lives thru his business, he’s determined to right the wrong, he’ll give you the shirt off his back, and he’s connected to his neighbors in a way that is reminiscent of days gone by. There is so much I can say but instead, I recommend that you take time to get to know your future councilman. Knowing Mike, he’ll gladly meet you for a conversation over coffee or he’ll pop over during a run. That’s the kind of old-school, down-to-earth politician this world needs more of: personable, open to hearing neighbor’s ideas, and advocating for what the community needs, regardless of what it takes. GROWTH. And this is exactly the kind of politician Irondequoit is being offered. Mike has grit, no doubt. He’s intelligent, for sure. But Mike has heart. He’s a family man that cares deeply about his own, but yours too. He’s got ideas for change, but he’s open to yours as well and he’s a DOER. He won’t just talk about it, he’ll be about it. The future of Irondequoit depends on growth. And that is what Mike will bring." Erin Travers Ashbaugh, IHS Class of '97

"As thirty five year residents of Irondequoit, Debbie and I met Lisa and her husband Nick at Living Water Christian Fellowship. Since then, we have nurtured an enduring friendship with them for the past twenty years. During this time, we have had the opportunity of meeting some of Lisa’s family members, including her two sons, who are currently serving our country in law enforcement’ We know Lisa to be an energetic and highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic. She is very meticulous with a remarkable attention to detail in any task she pursues. Lisa’s professional experience uniquely qualifies her both as a leader and a team player to research the pertinent regulations, provide expert input and deliver timely decisions as a town board member. As part of her job responsibilities, Lisa must operate within the constraints of local and state codes. Her field assignments involve planning and executing construction projects by identifying and overseeing appropriate work crews to complete these tasks on time and within budget. Some of Lisa’s favorite pastimes are enjoying her family and friends, volunteering at her church, caring for her pet Shih Tzus and preparing delicious meals. Her strong faith in God has enabled her to navigate and overcome trying times in her life, especially her ongoing concerns for her sons’ safety as they face dangerous situations daily in the line of duty."
