John Perticone in Total Disregard of the Law

On July 4th, 2025, a concerned Irondequoit resident contacted The Governmental Watchdog with a photo showing "Elect John Perticone" signs placed at the corner of Titus Avenue and Oakview Drive. She stated they had been there throughout the two days of the Irondequoit 4th of July festival held a hundred yards down Titus Avenue at the Town Hall.
This placement of temporary signs on private property or a public right-of-way is specifically banned by Town of Irondequoit Ordinance, Section 235-113, unless it is in the time frame 45 days before or 5 days after an election. The next election in New York State is November 4th, 2025. Clearly this makes placement of these signs in violation of Town zoning law.
On July 5th, 2025, at 9:17 AM a staffer visited the location and called the Town of Irondequoit to report the violation. At 9:26 AM, a white Grand Cherokee, plate number JAK 8264, arrived. Town Board member and candidate for Town Supervisor John Perticone exited the vehicle and removed his signs.
It begs the question why John Perticone was immediately contacted by the Town officials notifying him of the complaint instead of proceeding with the normal enforcement process that all other residents of Irondequoit would face.
Ironically his illegally placed political advertisement offers he has integrity, stability, and experience, yet on this day his actions are the polar opposite. He is experienced in breaking the law.
But it did not stop there, John Perticone illegally parked his Jeep in a handicap parking spot. This Town official and candidate believes laws do not apply to him brazenly breaking them in open public. Imagine what he is doing behind closed doors at 1280 Titus Ave.
Pursuant to Irondequoit Ordinance Section 235-102, a charge for initial placement and each day the violation occurs, is "punishable by a fine not to exceed $350 or imprisonment for a period not to exceed six months, or both."
But as an Irondequoit resident, do feel free to contact him at (585)766-2625 allowing him to explain his actions.
