My Background

I have been a resident of Irondequoit for 14 years now. With my Beautiful wife Elyse married for 10 years and my family, we have grown to love it here. My father was born and raised in Irondequoit and learning about Summerville where he grew up, I have always had an affinity for this town. I have one uncle that still resides in town as well.

First and foremost, I am a family centric. As a father and husband my greatest accomplishment and luxury is raising my three beautiful children. My oldest daughter Ava is 6, my second daughter Alana is 4, and my son Michael is one. Ava is in Kindergarten at Southlawn Elementary.

I attended Monroe Community College from 2006 to 2008 obtaining an associate's degree in science and attended SUNY Potsdam from 2009 to 2011 obtaining my bachelor's in business and economics.

My hobbies include fitness to include running (21st year of consistent running), hiking the high peaks in the Adirondak's (25 complete), the outdoors, building our farm at our second property in Irondequoit, a love for travel, visiting our family cottage in Canada, with a focus on activities that my children love to do.

My Professional Experience

I am a local business owner of Voigt’s Event Rentals (Tents, Tables, Chairs, Dance Floors, Lighting, and more) I also own an online business where I sell advanced nutraceuticals to health professionals and consumers. Following college, I worked in finance at Northwestern Mutual before managing a valet company, Valet Park of America, overseeing multiple accounts—including Rochester Regional, Finger Lakes Racetrack, and my home account at the Temple Building Loft Living. Additionally, I managed and ran event planning for my second business as the local coordinator for Rochester and Syracuse. My responsibilities included bringing in speakers, coordinating lodging, managing speaker payments, handling banking, and completing budgets. Beyond my businesses, I volunteer and serve on the board at my daughter Alana’s preschool, Irondequoit Cooperative Nursery School (ICNS), as the class coordinator

My Pledge to Irondequoit Residents

As your board member I will apply leadership always to do what is right, follow the law, and take care of our citizens with the upmost integrity. Uphold the rights of our citizens according to the constitution and the law.

Provide Access: As a citizen first, I have come to understand that the town—whether a staff member or an elected official—operates with an 'iron curtain' mentality. I pledge to change this. I want to hear from our residents and encourage everyone to reach out to me—whether by email, a letter to my home, or a phone call—so we can address concerns and solve problems in our community with complete transparency.

Illegal Reassessment of 2023: Uncover and bring forward the illegal and wrongdoings from the 2023 Reassessment that forced thousands of homeowners to be assessed incorrectly. I am motivated to help educate our citizens on how taxes work and how homes are assessed, as well as provide transparency from the board and at the town level with this matter.

Reduce Crime: As your board member it is my duty to always know our communities are safe. As a big supporter of our great law enforcement, I want to make sure that they have all the resources to do their job effectively and efficiently.

Remove Inefficiencies at all Levels of Town Government: Irondequoit operates as a complaint-driven town, taking little initiative to rectify operations and procedures proactively. Typically, town staff and elected officials wait for complaints and then allocate resources to appease residents, rather than addressing systemic issues. Investigations are minimal, and in our experience, little effort is made to fully understand the facts or the law.

In many cases, the town is quick to violate citizens' rights, break the law, or both, in an effort to avoid negative PR. I pledge to change this—to do what is right for all citizens, protect their rights, and uphold the law at all times, for everyone.
